MEGHAN TO SKATE WITH VANCOUVER CANUCKS
Mood:  celebratory

Meghan was selected to skate with the Vancouver Canucks next month as a "McDonald's In the Line Up" winner representing Whatcom County Amateur Hockey Association-Bellingham, WA.  She will lead the Canucks out of the tunnel for a pre-anthem skate and stand with the starting line-up during the playing of the national anthem.  The game is November 11, 2006 (Saturday) @ 7:00 pm.  The Canucks play the Calgary Flames and we think it will be a "Hockey Night in Canada" televised game on CBC.  Hope everyone can tune in, you just might see her in her NHL debut :-)  We are all very excited for her.  This is a once in a lifetime, dream come true moment for her.  She is thrilled, but was initially a little nervous that over 18,000 people would be in the house to watch her.   She is pretty much over that now and thinks she will be signing autograph's from our VIP seats.  Yep...Meghan and I get the VIP passes.  The rest of the family is relegated to the cheap seats :-)

Northwest Selects Hockey Camp
Mood:  bright
Meghan attended the NW Selects Girls Hockey Mini-Camp this past weekend in Kennewick, WA.  First let me tell you it was hoooooottttttt over in Eastern Washington.  But of course most of my time was spend in an ice rink, so I cannot really complain.  She had a great time and learned a lot and for the first time played hockey with all girls, 30 of them.  They were aged 7-16 (I think that was the oldest girl) and spent 8 hours on the ice over two days.  Yep..she still had energy to spare after all that skating, it's good to be 9!!!  In the picture she is front row, powder blue jersey, red helmet! (4th from R)

Spring League Champs
Mood:  happy
Team Ice won the Youth Pond Hockey League championship today. Meghan had a great year and today had two great games. She played mostly on defense in the semi-final and they won 13-6 (I think). In the finals she scored a hat trick (3 goals) and they won 8-5. She was a great. It was a lot of fun this spring and she learned a lot and had such a great time. And now she has her gold medal. That is Meggie kneeling on the left.

SPRING HOCKEY 2006
Mood:  caffeinated
Sorry I am away so long! Stefani gets irritated that I don't update the blog often enough. Well that is because we are BORING!!! Or maybe it is lazy! At any rate, I am now updating. About all that is going on is hockey in our lives. I must have lost my mind when I signed Meggie up for two spring leagues. Well it is finally over this upcoming weekend. No more commuting to Canada every Saturday and Sunday. Meghan's Surrey team "Team Ice" won their pool last weekend beating the Three Amigos and the Semiahmoo Storm...our fiercest rivals. Meghan has a goal and something like 10 assists in the two games. This weekend we are in the championships, wish us luck. Her other team the Bellingham Stars didn't fare quite so well. But they have ended the season on a high note and ended up being contenders. Below are some shots of Meghan from a Bellingham Stars game. Enjoy! Promise to back soon with more pictures

Meghan Hockey Update
Meghan is doing really well this spring in hockey. She is playing on two spring leagues in Canada. Saturday's she plays in Surrey, BC in a Youth 3 on 3 Pond Hockey League. They are currently in second place and she is having a great season. On Sunday's she plays with a team of Bellingham kids in a league in Langley, BC. They are having a tougher time winning, but her teammates who are all younger are getting lots of experience and improve every week. Enjoy the pictures of MEghan. They were taken this past Sunday against the Langley Mudsharks.
